The Tybee Island Museum encompasses several historical spots, including the light house and Fort Screven. The fort was built in 1898 and was used until 1945. The museum is found inside the Battery Garland, built in 1899, and contains items from the early pioneers and artifacts from World War 2. It is closed Tuesdays and admission inside the museum includes access to the Tybee Island Lighthouse.
