for recreational purposes since the mid-1800s and holds several historic places
to visit. Encompassing several of these sites, the Tybee Island Museum takes
its visitors back to the mid-1800s and to WWII with exhibits in the 1899 Battery
Garland, as well as the Tybee Island Lighthouse and Fort Screven. Another popular
stop is the Marine Science Center, which offers aquariums, interactive exhibits
and interpretive programs. Seafood lovers can feast at a different restaurant
every night as live bands play in the background.
